A really tasty Pilau Rice dish, perfect for adding more veggies into your kids’ diet!
There’s just a tiny bit of prep with the vegetables, but you can pretty much leave the rice to sort itself.

Ingredients
- 1/2 carrot
- 150 grammes sweetcorn
- 150 grammes peas
- 1 tablespoon ghee
- 5 cloves
- 1 teaspoon ground turmeric
- 1 pinch saffron
- 500 grammes basmatic rice or other long-grain rice

Instructions
- Peel the carrot and cut into very small cubes.
- Heat the ghee in a large pan with a tight-fitting lid.
- When the ghee has melted, add in the cloves.
- When the cloves start to pop, stir in the rice and vegetables. Stir until they are all coated in the ghee.
- Add 600ml of boiling water and bring it all to the boil.
- Cover the pan, them simmer on the lowest setting for 12 to 15 minutes until the rice is tender.
- Let the steam dry off, then fluff up with a fork.
