All about a very special 5 year old girl on her birthday
To mark the occasion of her 5th birthday, Littlest Angel is the subject of my blog post today. I’ve asked this very lovely little 5 year old what her favourite things are. And it’s a very special post as it’s my very first blog interview.
As mums of all 5 year olds will understand, food is a very hot topic in our house. If we’re not talking about food, we’re making it or clearing up after it. And if she’s not eating it, the 5 year old is helping me cook it, or playing in her toy kitchen. So we’re starting off with Food Questions.
So, what are your Top 5 Fruits?
mmmm…… grapes, strawberries, redcurrants, blueberries, raspberries
What are you Top 5 Veggies?
Easy. Carrots, peas, cucumber, tomatoes and sweetcorn ….. can that include sweetcorn on its own and corn on the cob so I get both?
What are your Top 5 Dinners?
Pasta with pasta sauce and meatballs
Posh fish fingers with cabbage and onion
(which is very odd as I am very sure we have never had cabbage and onion with fish fingers)
Jacket potato, cheese and beans
(can’t tell you how excited I was when she finally decided she liked jacket potato. It makes for a very easy tea one night a week!)
Smoked Mackerel & Panzanella Salad.
Margherita Pizza
(She’s really quite an expert on pizza. She hates doughy ones, or anything overloaded with cheese. She’s a pizza purist. Although often asks for olives on top. What a sophisticated young lady.)
(It’s hard to believe that this young sophisticate used to be a fussy eater!)
When you’re not busy at school, what are your 5 Favourite Hobbies?
Cutting things, like dollies, out of cardboard.
(Actually, she likes to cut anything out of anything. She just loves scissors. As we found out one day when she took a pair to her own head and scalped herself. It was an hour before a flight to Italy so she ended up looking butchered for the whole holiday. She hasn’t done it since.)
Playing with playdough
(often with scissors again, it has to be said)
Baking with mummy
Reading
(She’s a very very keen reader, devouring book after book after book. Really a proper bookworm!)
Painting
What are your Top 5 Tunes?
Firework by Katy Perry
Let’s Twist Again by Chubby Checker
The Match of the Day theme tune
All About The Bass by Meghan Trainor
Ba Ba Black Sheep
(So, this very special 5 year old girl has very eclectic taste in music)
I know you are a very keen reader, a proper little bookworm. What are your Top 5 Books?
A Kitten Called Holly by Helen Peters
Magic Faraway Tree by Enid Blyton
A Pig Called Truffle by Helen Peters
Sleepover by Jacqueline Wilson
Famous Five books by Enid Blyton
What do you think you’ll be when you’re older?
I don’t want to tell you about that yet.
(This worries me. I was expecting a ballerina. Or that she wants to just stay at home doing laundry all day, which is obviously what she thinks I do)
How do you think you’ll feel when you’re 5?
I’ll feel older when I’m 5. And I’ll get faster. And I’ll be able to do cartwheels and handstands.
A message to my birthday girl
Happy birthday to my beautiful, clever and funny little girl. I fell in love with you the very first moment I looked into your big blue eyes and my love for you grows each day. I am so very very pleased with how you’ve settled into Big School and so very proud of all your reading and writing. But, most of all, I’m proud to be …
…..your ever-loving Mummy
